Christopher Russell, InternÂ
Christopher Russell is a dedicated professional currently pursuing a dual degree program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, earning a bachelor’s in Homeland Security and a master’s in Human Security and Resilience, while also working toward a second bachelor’s in International Relations and Global Security at American Military University. He holds an associate’s degree in Counter-Terrorism Studies and focuses academically on cybersecurity, intelligence, and global security. With over seven years of military service in special operations and logistics management, Christopher leverages his extensive experience in crisis response, inter-agency collaboration, and leadership to advance his academic and professional goals.
Enmanuel Pena, InternÂ
Enmanuel is a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran where he learned firsthand different security measures and policies from the military perspective. After his service in the military, Enmanuel was a law enforcement officer for nearly a decade. His experience in law enforcement included many paths such as patrol, investigations, instructorship, and SWAT operator. He is now in his final year completing his bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. With his military and law enforcement background his experience will provide the ability to give the NATO Veteran’s initiative a new lens for research approaches on security policy. He wishes to apply his experience with security on a global scale.
I am a former U.S. Marine, honorably discharged as a Sergeant with seven years of dedicated service. As a civilian I had a career in law enforcement for nearly a decade across two different states. My experiences ranged from being a patrol officer, investigator, instructor, and even SWAT operator. Transitioning these skills into the civilian world now as I finish my bachelor’s degree program in Homeland Security with a minor in cybersecurity at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. I think my experience and background will bring a fresh perspective to the work being done at the NATO Veteran’s initiative. I am excited to apply my personal experiences and conduct meaningful work on the NAVI Emerging Technologies and Data Studies team.
