Theme: Transatlantic Security and Solidarity: NATO’s Transformation, Current Issues, and Future Challenges
The NAVI Research Institute welcomes contributions from academics, practitioners, and thought leaders for its 2025–2026 Workshop Series. The publication of the NAVI Strategic Contribution Report for NATO 2026 will be the outcome of this series. We value works that focus on gaps, are results-oriented, and present innovative solutions that both enlighten policymakers and are of use to all the stakeholders of the transatlantic security community.
Objectives
- Identify the most critical gaps in the warfare strategy, public relations, and technological adaptation of NATO.
- Produce radical, research-based concepts for decision-makers and people on the ground.
- Facilitate interaction between academia, business, and the non-profit sector through the exchange of ideas.
What We’re Looking For
We accept a wide range of formats that can effectively serve the purpose of a contribution:

We would be happy if your contributions address one or more of the following points:
- The historical changes of NATO and its evolution into a strategic organization.
- Security threats of today and the steps taken by NATO to stop them.
- The impact of transatlantic relations on strategic coherence.
- Society, youth, and their view of security.
- The economic side of things, financing of defense and sharing of the burden.
- Technology and the defense industry, the next security tools.
- NATO 2026: Strategic projection.
Submission Guidelines
- Abstract: A clear and concise 300-500-word summary that covers the concept, its relevance, and the potential impact of the idea.
- Format: No restrictions—designed to fit your selected output.
- Due date: March 15, 2026

Evaluation Criteria
- Relevance: The submission conforms to the aims of NATO and NAVI.
- Innovation: Inventive solutions to security-related issues.
- Actionability: The most straightforward ways to carry out the recommendations.

The NAVI Research Institute is the research division of NATO Veterans Initiative - NAVI that provides a unique perspective to transatlantic leaders and societies on peace and security through the lens of NATO's founding principles of rule of law, democracy, human rights, and individual liberties. The NAVI Research Institute was officially established by the NAVI Board on July 16th, 2023.
